Recently our developers at Basics09 have been working hard to implement a new function into the Timeline of Historical Film Colors: The new tagging system for users. Now everyone can add their own tags to images and galleries.

The tagging system is based on a thesaurus that organizes all the assets on the Timeline of Historical Film Colors.
Add tags by typing them into the box as shown in the video or select them from the thesaurus:
Aesthetics is one of the many topics organized in the thesaurus.

Please add tags that apply to all the photos in a gallery to the gallery page (see screenshot below), for instance genre, production company and country, period, director and other team members.
Add general tags that apply to the whole gallery or film beneath the gallery as shown here.
Add only tags that apply to single photos to them, such as color scheme, dominant hues, aesthetics, information about the subject or film stock, splices, titles, image composition, actor / actress etc.]
Add tags that apply to individual photos directly to the photos as shown here.
There are many new galleries online from all our research trips by Barbara Flueckiger and the two research teams ERC Advanced Grant FilmColors and SNF Film Colors. Technologies, Cultures, Institutions to the Library of Congress, to the Academy Film Archive, to the Science and Media Museum in Bradford. Plus a very rare experimental film from the National Film Archive of Japan, and the most beautiful stencil colored film Casanova (FRA 1927, Alexandre Volkoff) from the Cinémathèque française.
In total more than 400 galleries.
