Autotype Trichrome Carbro

Description

“As in previous versions of the process, pigment papers were soaked in a sensitizing bath and then squeegeed firmly onto the surface of wet bromide prints to harden the pigmented gelatin in proportion to the amount of silver contained in the image. The pigment
papers were then transferred onto a temporary support for development in hot water, where the unhardened gelatin was washed off. The three colored positive images were assembled onto a temporary support before they were transferred onto the final support, usually a sheet of white paper. Transparencies viewed in reflected light over a white sheet of paper could also be made (Fig. 3.20).”
